The Juang is one of the primitive tribe who are only found in Odisha. They speak a language of their own which comes under comes under Austric group. In their language Juang means 'Man' and they reveal their identities through their rich cultural heritage and striking socio-cultural features. They believe in broad kinship range and corporate community life. They respect their habitat, people and unseen super natural powers. They enjoy life in group. They follow their traditional pattern and architechfor house construction. The Juangas were hunters and food gatherers. They practiced burn type of rotation cultivation and later adopted wet land cultivation. The bachelor dermitory 'Mandaghar' is the most important traditional informal educational institute around which the Juang life revolves.
